Police Blotter: Possible Bottle Bombs Found in Stow Mailbox
Police blotter for Feb. 4-6.

A newspaper delivery person reported to Feb. 5 that a two-liter bottle that had liquid inside was bubbling in a mailbox at the 1300 block of Hibbard Drive. The newspaper delivery man said there were two other small bottles on the road by the mailbox and three small foil balls were Β inside the mailbox. A police officer pushed the bottles onto the road and removed the contents without incident, according to the report. Arson, in this situation, is a first-degree misdemeanor.
In other police news:
- A Duquesne Drive resident reported to police Feb. 6 that someone entered his unlocked home around noon and took his 47-inch LED flatscreen television valued at about $1,300. No other items were taken, according to the report. Burlary is a second-degree felony and theft is a fifth-degree felony.
- on Kent Road reported to police that $36 worth of candles, greeting cards and a gift bag were stolen Feb. 4. A Cuyahoga Falls woman and a Stow woman were arrested and charged for theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. The items were recovered after police found them in the suspectβs car.
- A married couple from Wetmore Street in Stow was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. , 4300 Kent Rd., reported the suspects took $326 worth of miscellaneous prescriptions and grocery items from the store. The stolen items were recovered, including the pills which were hidden in the suspectβs sock, according to the report. Police are investigating whether the pills were prescribed to the suspect.
