Jewelry, Rental Deposits Among Recent Thefts

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • A resident of the 1900 block of Ritchie Road reported on Nov. 15 that someone had entered her home at some point since Nov. 10 and stole four pieces of jewelry. Three of the items had a combined value of $350; a value had not been determined for the fourth item, a 50-year-old white gold ring with diamonds and rubies. The woman, 74, said she had accidentally left her garage door open and the man-door into the house was unlocked, so she assumed that’s when the burglary occurred. Nothing else in the home appeared to have been disturbed.
  • A resident of the 1400 block of McTaggart Road reported Nov. 17 that someone entered her unlocked 2004 Saturn Vue between 4 and 10:30 p.m. and stole an iPod valued at $200, a bookbag valued at $30, a school textbook valued at $100 and reading glasses valued at $100.
  • entered a warrant into the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) on Nov. 20 in relation to a theft that was reported Oct. 3 by a property management company based in Montvale, NJ. According to the company, between May 26 and Aug. 31, rental deposits totaling $2,964 were stolen via computer transactions that took place in the office at Millburn Apartments in Stow.
