Another Small Plane Crash at KSU Airport, No Injuries

No one was injured in the crash that closed the airport for three hours.

The in Stow was closed for three hours because of a single-engine plane crash around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, according toΒ Emily Vincent, Kent State spokesperson.

The airport was reopened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.Β 

An university-owned aircraft was down on the runway, after a student crashed a Cessna 152 single-engine plane into the runway nose down, she said. The , as well as the Kent Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on scene after the crash.Β

There is front end damage to the aircraft, but there is Β no cost estimate available at this time, said Vincent.

The pilot was on the only person on board. The student, who is apart of the aeronautics program, was attempting to land when the crashΒ happened, she said. No one was injured.
