Mali Ball Tourney 2014

DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) held their annual Mali Ball Tournament on Friday, December 19, in the high school gymnasium.  Teams of five competed against each other in brackets until eventually one team became the winner of the tournament.  The students raised almost $500 that will be applied to building our “Stow School” in Mali, Africa.  ”We have been raising money for the last three years with the goal of reaching $14,000 in order to build the school, said Jalen Hooks-Snyder, Secretary of Senior DECA.  Other sources that have also been key contributors for the cause have been the foreign language clubs, Interact club, and many of the other schools in the district.  For more information regarding our “Stow School” in Mali, Africa, please visit Africansky.org.  Donations are always welcome and are tax-deductible.”  First place winners for the tournament were the senior DECA team which consisted of left to right: Jalen Hooks-Snyder, Tyler Hallam, Chrissie Vaughan, Tyler Bonina, and Gino Demarino.
