Son is Mother's Hero: For More Than Obvious Reasons

Braydon Lazzara will be commended for his quick-thinking and emergency assistance to his mother March 21, 2012.

Your mother suddenly falls ill in the middle of a soccer field ... no one is around, how do you handle the situation?

This same scenario was the scene at the for 10-year-old Braydon Lazzara and his mother Sarah last week β€” the day she says Braydon became her hero.Β 

"I was on the verge of losing consciousness and he called 911. Braydon remained calm and did everything right," said Sarah. "We are so proud of him."

Many may not have handle a similiar situation as calmly or responsibly β€” at any age. But Braydon, a student, did, according to the .Β 

"It’s so refreshing to me to see that children are sometimes better with emergencies than adults," said Fire Safety Educator Sandy Ray.Β

Today (March 26) at 1 p.m. Braydon will be given an award from Sandy and a dispatcher, Tammy, for his smart action at Woodland.
