Stow Symphony Orchestra Sends Sounds to Kent Saturday

The orchestra is openings its 14th season with Kent State University Music Professor Jerry Wong.

The Stow Symphony Orchesta is opening its 14th season in Kent Saturday evening.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Ludwig Recital Hall, located in the Music and Speech building on campus, 1325 Theatre Dr. in Kent.

Nine-year Kent State University Music Professor Jerry Wong will join the symphony for the performance.

“I like performing especially here in the community because it gives my students an opportunity to hear me play,” Wong told KentWired.com. “When I am invited to play with a local orchestra I am always happy to do it."

The orchestra's director, Darrell Music, told KentWired.com, "[Wong has this huge sound. The sound that he puts out is so expansive and that is what blew me away. He is one of those instrumentalists who have a way of taking lyricism and have it fill the room."

  • Mozart; Concerto No. 21 in C Major, K.467 for Piano and Orchestra featuring pianist Jerry Wong
