Stow Weathers Storm Well

The police chief said the city held up during last night's tornado warning storm.

"The city of Stow escaped any major problems," said Police Chief Louis Dirker.

Winds of up to 60 mph swept through the city last night beginning around 7:30 p.m. The National Weather Service issued three warnings: Tornado, Flooding and Severe Thunderstorm.

A police clerk said there are no reports of any large trees down, road closures or power lines down as of 11 a.m.

Last evening during the storm, in Kent, Brimfield and Stow.

As of 11 a.m. today, Mark Durbin, spokesperson for FirstEnergy Corp., said power is restored to everyone now.

While Stow did OK, it seems our neighbors to the southwest didn't fair as well. were sighted in Cuyahoga Falls May 25.

"Our dispatch center received several calls concerning weather-related problems, but they were all from the Cuyahoga Falls area," said Dirker.
