'This is a Robbery!' Man Flees from CVS without Cash

Joseph Richard Schratz IV, 40, of Englewood Drive in Stow was arrested and charged with robbery by Stow Police Saturday morning after yelling "This is a robbery!" in CVS and fleeing the business without any cash.

said they went to the and a witness said a white man wearing a blue jacket, grey T-shirt and blue jeans stood in line to pay for an item and then attempted to grab the register drawer when it opened.Β 

The clerk forced the drawer closed and the man left and was seen taking off in a red car without any money from CVS, according to the report.

No weapon was seen or threatened, said police.

Police said the description they got at CVS of the man matched that of a male who committed a robbery in another city Jan. 13. Police also said the description matched that of a man who was arrested for robberies that happened in Stow and Cuyahoga Falls in September.Β

Officers went to the home of the man who was previously arrested and found a vehicle matching the one described leaving CVS. After further investigation, police said they recovered evidence linking Schratz to this robbery as well as others in the area.

Schratz was sent to Summit County Jail.
