Two Appointed to Stow Commission, Board
Find out who was selected to serve on the Senior Citizen's Commission and Board of Zoning and Building Appeals.

Thursday evening, Stow City Council approved adding a new member to theΒ Senior Citizenβs Commission and a new memer to the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals.
Phillip Russo was selected out of two others who applied for the senior citizen's commission position and Edward Franks was selected from a group of two for the BZBA.
"We had some excellent candidates," said Mayor Karen Frtischel. "We were so fortunate in the city of Stow to have so many people of such excellent qulity to serve on our boards and commissions"

Fritschel added it was a hard choice to narrow it down.
"It's not always the case to have this many really great people apply," said Council President Janet D'Antonio.

Franks has a master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Akron. He currently works as a project manager for the GPD Group and manages public works improvements projects on roadways, intersections and bridges, according to his application for the position.
Franks is also a certified by the Ohio Board of Building Standards as master plans examiner.
"He has a great background for this particular board," said Fritschel.Β
Russo, who is joining the Senior Citizen's Commission, has a marketing degree from the University of Akron.
