Video: Company Moves Across the Street in Stow, Hopes to Expand

VMI Americas, a company that has been in Stow since 1988, had a grand opening March 23 in its new building across the street on Allen Road.

Mayor Karen Fritschel said she is "very pleased that VMI Americas will continue to be a part of the city of Stow’s business community. They have been a great asset to the city for many years and we look forward to continuing our relationship with this viable company."

New company Pneumatic Scale moved into the former VMI building on Allen Road, said Fritschel.

"The benefits to accrue to the city of Stow by this move will be the retention of their existing employees in the city," said Economic Development Coordinator Mike Weddle.  "The company was looking in other communities for buildings that suited their needs — however, the renovation and occupation of this building by VMI served their needs perfectly.  It also reduced the amount of square footage of vacant industrial space in the city of Stow ... yet another benefit."

Fritschel said the company "looked at a number of other places — Hudson, Twinsburg, Green —we're happy they stayed here."
