Want to Know More about IB? District Schedules Meeting

The district scheduled a meeting at Echo Hills to discuss integrating the program into the school and to field questions from residents Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.

Ask, ask, ask, ask ... and you shall receive. 

Residents have been asking questions about the International Baccalaureate program at public meetings and here on Stow Patch for weeks. They might get the answers they are seeking during a meeting and question and answer session scheduled for next week. 

Superintendent Russ Jones announced during Monday's  that there will be a public gathering to discuss IB.

The public meeting, which is not a board meeting, is Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at .

Jones said a presentation about the program will be made by teachers who were involved with IB at , parents who had children involved with the program and Director of Curriculum and Instruction Karen Moore.

The informational report will be followed by a question and answer session.

Residents who do not have children at Echo Hills, or children in the school system, are still invited to attend the meeting.

"At this point we’ve sent six [Echo Hills] teachers to training. The meeting scheduled next week is to provide information about the program and to get feedback from parents. Then, we’ll decide if we pursue it or not," said Jones.
