Today's riddle: What do you call a belt that is made of watches? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. November 2026 Voters Guide presented by The League of Women Voters (theportager.com) — Streetsboro voters will help decide a renewal of the 5.1‑mill Streetsboro City School District levy, along with numerous Portage County school, township, city, and county tax issues on the Nov. 3 ballot. This nonpartisan guide lays out candidate bios, statewide races, and detailed local measures—from school funding and mental health services to fire protection and a Ravenna income tax—so Streetsboro residents can research how each choice could affect their taxes and services.
2. PARTA launches new Streetsboro, Aurora microtransit service POGO Transit (theportager.com) — A new PARTA microtransit service called POGO is now operating in the Streetsboro–Aurora area, giving local workers app-based rides within a nine‑mile zone, including Streetsboro's busy industrial corridor. Streetsboro officials welcome the added transportation option but acknowledge riders' concerns that the $10‑per‑ride fare, plus $1 per extra passenger, may be steep for daily commuting. PARTA says pricing and service levels could change as demand and feedback grow.
3. Northeast Ohio school levies, bond issues on the Nov. 3 election ballot (wkyc.com) — Streetsboro residents will see a renewal of the 5.1‑mill Streetsboro City School District levy on the Nov. 3 ballot, costing about $96 per $100,000 in home value and raising roughly $2.55 million annually for operations and improvements. It's one of many Northeast Ohio school funding issues, but this renewal specifically affects Streetsboro's classroom expenses and building upkeep starting in 2027.
4. Portage high school sports recaps for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4 (cincinnati.com) — Streetsboro athletes made their mark in this week's Portage County high school sports action, with goalkeeper Preston Krzeminski turning away multiple Roosevelt chances and Lyra Sadowski and McKenzie Montgomery scoring for the Rockets. The roundup highlights how Streetsboro's boys and girls soccer squads stacked up against MAC rivals, alongside standout performances from neighboring schools that Streetsboro fans regularly face.
