2 Strongsville Firms Get Grants to Improve Safety
State awards money to protect employees

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) has awarded two Strongsville businesses Workplace Safety Grants in an effort to help Ohio employers establish best practices for illness and injury prevention.
State Rep. Mike Dovilla, R-18, said recipients were:
• Clark-Reliance Corporation, which provides measurements and controls in the instrumentation industry. The company was awarded $40,000 for a 16-spindle tightening machine to help reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders related to vibration and repetitive motion.

• Wallover Oil Company, Inc., a Strongsville manufacturer of industrial lubricants. It was awarded $40,000 for a bulk bag unloader and pneumatic conveying system to reduce the risk of injury from manual material handling, slips/trips/falls, and exposure to dust as employees empty bags of product into 2,000-pound capacity blenders.
“I am pleased the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation was able to see the commitment Clark-Reliance Corporation and the Wallover Oil Company have made to workplace safety,” Dovilla said.

In total, the BWC awarded 13 Ohio businesses more than $273,000 in an effort to make Ohio workplaces safer.
