A Quick 5 with Anthony Gallas

Former SHS star shares his thoughts on baseball

Five questions with Anthony Gallas:

What was your most memorable moment, growing up as an Indians fan?

The playoff game when Albert Belle hit the home run, the Red Sox had the umpires take his bat and Albert flexed his muscles. Awesome.

Favorite moment as pro player?

Probably playing at the Dayton Dragons’ ballpark. The whole experience is neat and I was going good at the time. Seeing your name hitting .380 on the scoreboard in front of a sellout crowd is pretty cool.

Funniest moment?

Seeing (outfielder and Indians’ No. 2 pick in 2010) LeVon Washington every day in the clubhouse. He makes it a lot of fun. He’s just one funny guy.

Biggest surprise?

The length of the pro season and its grind. To wake up three months into the season and realize you have three more to go is something.

Goals?

To prove that I can hit at any level I reach and to show that my first half last year was not a fluke.
