Additional Security To Be Added At Strongsville Schools

The school district is working with local police to add security at the preschool and elementary schools.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Additional security is being placed at Strongsville preschool and elementary schools, the district announced on Friday. The Board of Education approved the necessary funding and Superintendent Cameron Ryba is working with local police to add additional security coverage.

“The safety of our students, teachers, staff, and administration throughout the District is our top priority. We appreciate our Board’s commitment and support in creating safe environments throughout our schools. We also are grateful for the Strongsville Police Department and their efforts to connect their officers with the students, teachers, and staff in our District,” said Ryba.

The additional security measures will be added April 30, the district said. This is part of the Strongsville School's overall safety plan.

Earlier this month, Ryba and representatives from the Strongsville Police discussed the existing strategies for protecting the district's schools. "One of my most important jobs as superintendent, is making sure that each of those 6,000 faces that are in my care each and everyday, from students to staff to parent visitors, go home safe," Ryba said at the town hall meeting.
