Anti-Bullying Campaign Comes To Strongsville Schools
Students aren't the only ones that can take part in the Start with Hello initiative. Local business and civic groups can pitch in, too.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville Schools will take part in the national anti-bullying initiative "Start With Hello" next week. Students in each school buildings will be taking part in programs and activities that are designed to build a culture of inclusion, the district said.
“Our students, teachers, and staff have embraced “Start with Hello” week and are making plans to make this an impactful week for everyone in our District. Special thanks to our school psychologists and counselors for their efforts and creative ideas in making this memorable for the students in Strongsville," said Jennifer Pelko, assistant superintendent.
Students will be taught how to recognize social isolation, and how to take action to include someone in their group. They will also be given tools like conversation starters and icebreakers...the things you say after "hello."

"Our hope is that this serves as another reminder of the power of saying ‘hello’ and being present with those individuals you come into contact with on a daily basis. We see this carrying throughout the school year and beyond for our District. If even one student feels someone made a difference in their life by helping them feel accepted, included, and valued, our efforts will be worth it,” Pelko added.
Local Strongsville businesses and civic groups are being encouraged to display signs with the #HelloStrongsville slogan. They can also include the hashtag on social media posts to show solidarity.
