Arrest Made In Murder Of Strongsville Teacher

Police announced they have arrested a 20-year-old man for the murder of Melinda Pleskovic.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Police have arrested 20-year-old Jeffrey William Scullin Jr. and charged him with the homicide of Melinda Pleskovic, 49. The arrest was announced by Strongsville Police Chief Mark Fender at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

Pleskovic was shot and stabbed to death in her home on Blazing Star Drive last Monday. Scullen is believed to be the fiance of Pleskovic's daughter, Fender said. Scullin was living at Pleskovic's home at the time of the murder.

Scullin has been charged with aggravated murder. His bond was set at $1 million by the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas and his case has been forwarded to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.

Fender said the case is still under investigation and the department will not release additional details on the case until the investigation is complete. He urged the public to come forward if they have any relevant information.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation is aiding the Strongsville Police Department with the investigation.
