On closer examination, police found it was spaghetti or pizza sauce.

Rodent Rage Incident

A Kylemore Drive woman came home to find a cage -- with an animal inside -- next to her mailbox.

She couldn't tell what kind of animal it was and didn't want to get too close, a report said. Police identified the little guy as a hamster -- apparently a pet someone didn't want any more.

They took the furry intruder to the station and asked the animal warden to pick it up.

Babysitter Sweeps Up Cash

While an Atlantic Road woman was away, her babysitter allegedly took her new vacuum cleaner back to the store -- and pocketed the money.

The woman said she still has the receipt, but the man allegedly took the vacuum to Walmart and got the $135 she paid for it.

Apartment Squatting

A manager at Chestnut Lakes Apartments went to take a final look at an apartment before a couple was due to move in -- and found they were already living there.

The couple had visited the apartment with plans to move in a week later, but instead made copies of the keys and secretly moved right in right away.

Management decided to give the couple a second chance and let them stay if they could come up with the rent money that day.

Maybe a Muzzle?

A tenant at a Pearl Road apartment complained at 2 a.m. about a man on a lower floor who kept going to his window and yelling and barking.

Police located the man and told him about the complaint. He agreed to stop.

Witness This

A Sprague Road woman told police she is a former Jehovah's Witness and the group has been calling her.

She did not report the incidents until someone from the group said he has been watching her and her house for two weeks.

Police determined who the calls were coming from. They said they would call the man and tell him to stop bothering her.

Inside Job

A tenant at a Whitney Road apartment reported a burglary after she went up to her unit and found the door ajar.

She peeked inside and saw a mess, with CDs and DVDs all over the floor, a report said.

But there was nothing missing and there were no signs of forced entry.

After the woman spoke with police, she said it's possible her two cats made the mess, and that she mght have accidently left her door open.
