Business Opens in Strongsville, House Gets Built in Haiti

Auntie Anne's donates money to help Haitian family

The grand opening of a third location at  this summer celebrated more than just pretzels.

While the store held its grand opening celebration in August, the full effect of the event wasn’t felt until this month when a family in Haiti received a house, built by monetary donations received at the grand opening.

Working with Food for the Poor, the third-largest international relief and development organization in the United States, Auntie Anne’s encouraged customers to donate money at their grand opening.

Customers received a free pretzel for making a donation to Food for the Poor.

The house is located in Varreux Ouest and will be occupied by a mother and her two children.

“We were very excited to see our third location in Westfield SouthPark Center open this summer," franchise partner Ray McConnell said in a news release. "Since our first store opened in the mall in 1996, the community has been overwhelmingly supportive. We wanted to share our success with those less fortunate. By working with Food for the Poor, we were able to do so."
