Car Chase In Strongsville Ends With Crash In Cleveland
A Strongsville police officer tried to stop an SUV on I-71. Instead of pulling over, the SUV led police on a chase that ended in Cleveland.

STRONGSVILLE, OH - Strongsville Police were involved in a car chase that ended in a crash in Cleveland on March 28. The chase began on I-71 and ended on Denison Avenue where the suspect crashed into a parked car.
Police say the pursuit started because a Strongsville officer saw a dark colored SUV traveling on I-71, near SR-82, speeding while driving north. The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the SUV sped up and jumped off the highway at Denison Avenue.
The SUV hit a parked car in a driveway on Denison Avenue. Instead of surrendering, the occupants of the SUV then ran out of the car. A brief foot chase ensued and police were able to apprehend both suspects.

The driver, Lequawn Gill, has been charged with Drug Possession, Failure to Comply with the Order of a Police Officer, Open Container, Speeding and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License.
He was video arraigned into Berea Municipal Court on Tuesday.

The passenger, Rodney Carthon, was taken into custody on scene by the Cleveland Police Department for outstanding warrants.
