Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:

  1. The Cleveland Guardians have been eliminated from World Series contention. The team fell to the New York Yankees on Tuesday in Game Five of the American League Division Series. The final score was 5-1. The Yankees will progress to playing the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series. (Subscription: Akron Beacon Journal)
  2. A Flock camera in Lyndhurst, Ohio, alerted authorities to a passing driver who was wanted on a warrant. During the traffic stop, it was determined a South Euclid woman was wanted on a Strongsville Police Department warrant. The department was reportedly unable to pick the woman up, so she was released at the scene. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
  3. The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office is receiving a grant from the state to support its retention efforts. The grant can be used for team wellness, recruitment, training, and crime prevention efforts. Cuyahoga County hopes the grant money can combat the ongoing trend of declining police officer rates.
