Cyngier to Answer Questions on Converting to Gas

 A local heating and cooling company is hosting an informational meeting for all-electric homeowners considering a conversion to gas.

Cyngier Heating & Air Conditioning will answer questions and offer step-by-step procedures for converting at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Walter F. Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center, 18100 Royalton Rd.

The session follows Mayor Tom Perciak's public meeting last month with representatives from Columbia Gas, who offered 100 feet of free gas pipe to each resident on a street, as well as a free connection from the main line to the house and a free meter.

Company owner Roseann Cyngier said she was inundated after the meeting with questions from residents -- “Do I need a chimney to vent my new furnace?” “How can I convert with no basement?” “What is hybrid heat?” “What are the options for a new furnace?” “Must I replace the heat pump, too?” 

Cyngier said many of those questions, as well as others, will be answered at the meeting Feb. 23. Furnace choices will be on display for homeowners to view. Columbia Gas interest forms will be available for those who have not yet completed one.
