Don't Forget to Get Fido a License
Dog owners can face late charges if they wait till after Jan. 31 to renew

It's time do get a new dog license for your furry best friend, and the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Officer has set up several ways to buy one.
Costs range from $16-$20 with the majority of the proceeds going to the Cuyahoga County Animal shelter. They can be purchased online at http://fiscalofficer.cuyahogacounty.us.
Or, if Fido needs a little fresh air, the fiscal office has nearly 30 participating walk-in locations around Cuyahoga County, according to the local government web site.

The law requires that licenses be renewed each year from Dec. 1 to Jan. 31, starting with pups that are at least three months old. Late fees of $16-$20 will be imposed for licenses that are obtained after the January deadline.

The county encourages the annual renewal of dog licenses to keep the addresses and contact information of dog owners current. That way, if a canine is lost or runs away, it can be quickly located and returned to its owner.
