Driver in Fatal Crash Pleads Not Guilty

Bond set at $5,000 for Timothy Bene

A Brunswick man has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a  that killed a motorcyclist.

Bond was set at $5,000 this morning for Timothy Bene, 27, according to Maria Russo, spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason.

He is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and tampering with evidence in connection with the collision that killed William Bricker Jr., 39, of Brunswick.

Police said Bricker was riding a Harley Davidson west on Boston Road about 8:45 a.m. when Bene, driving east on Boston, turned his pickup truck left onto Howe Road in front of him.

Following the accident, witnesses saw Bene get out of his truck and walk into the woods, then return a few minutes later.

Police found four bags of marijuana in the woods.

Bricker was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died four days later.
