Fire Academy For Kids Comes June 14, 15 In Strongsville

Only 20 kids will be accepted for the city's annual fire academy program.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Fourth and fifth graders rejoice. The city is once again offering its Fire Academy for Kids program, which gives children the chance to take part in hands-on firefighting activities.

The program is pretty exclusive, limiting attendance to 20 kids. Ten children will be accepted for the June 14 session, and then 10 more will be able to attend a second session on June 15.

Each session will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be held at Fire Station Number Four, 17000 Prospect Road. Each attendee will get a T-shirt and will be sworn in by Strongsville Mayor Tom Perciak. Plus, a pizza lunch is provided.
