Here are the top three stories in Strongsville today:
- Put your fireworks away! The Strongsville City Council has voted to continue the city's ban on fireworks discharged by non-professionals. The decision was made through a unanimous vote to opt out of a recent bill allowing Ohio residents to discharge fireworks in celebration of certain holidays such as Independence Day. (cleveland.com)
- Cuyahoga County will open a new Connection Center focused on providing aging residents with resources to preserve independence. The center will be offering the services free of charge to residents over the age of 60. The center will also be a safe place to report suspected elder abuse or neglect. (Cleveland.com)
- Chris Ronayne has won the Democratic primary for Cuyahoga County Executive. Ronayne will face off against the Republican candidate Lee Weingart during the November General Election. The current County Executive announced late last year that he would not be seeking a third term for the position. (WKSU.org)
