Free Women's Self-Defense Clinic Coming To Strongsville
The "Don't Be a Victim" session will be held November 29 and is open to women and teenage girls.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — A free self-defense class for women and teenage girls will be held November 29. The "Don't Be a Victim" workshop is led by local martial arts instructor Jeff Ellis of International Karate Centers.
The event will be held at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The tagline for the event is that students will learn how to "drop a 200 pound attacker really fast!"

The city said the two-hour session will focus on safety awareness, evading assault, and self-defense skills. Students will learn some basic hand strikes, blocking actions, kicks and simple ways to escape from grabs or holds.
The flyer for the event said the environment will be safe, controlled, and fun.
