Good Samaritan Falls for Scam about Car Repair
The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A shopper at was taken for $50 after he believed the story of a man who said his car broke down, and even provided his name and phone number.
According to a report, the victim was approached about 11 a.m. July 18 by a man who asked for money because he was having car trouble.
He gave the victim a name and phone number and promised to pay the money back, plus more, later in the day.

The victim handed over $40, then met the man again at about 2 p.m. and gave him another $10.
The suspect said he needed a ride to his bank, so they got in the victim's car and went to a house in Cleveland, where the suspect picked up his license.

They then drove to another location in Cleveland, where the suspect went into a house and never came back out.
Police called the number the suspect gave, but no one answered, and its voice mail was not set up.
