Gun, Sledgehammer Toting Robbers Target Strongsville Jeweler
Three men tried to rob the Jared Jeweler on Royalton Road on Wednesday. Police are still searching for the suspects. See video.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Three men, armed with guns and a sledgehammer, attempted to rob Jared Jewelers on Wednesday. The men fled the store without stealing anything, but police have been unable to locate the suspects.
The attempted robbery took place at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The men came into the store with hoodies and covered faces. One of the men had a ski mask over his face, according to police records. They had a gun and a sledgehammer but left without getting of the jewelry. Police did not say why the suspects fled the store.
Police responded to the store and set up a perimeter. A K-9 track was also started, but the suspects eluded police and escaped.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Officers are attempting to gain surveillance footage from nearby businesses.
