Hazardous Waste Collections Scheduled In Strongsville

Residents will be able to get rid of roof tar, oil-based paints, varnish and other hard to dispose of items during the events.

STRONGSVILLE, OH β€” The city will hold a series of recycling events throughout the year. The events will help residents get rid of old documents and donate old household items which might otherwise be difficult to throw away.

The annual Household Hazardous Waste collection will run April 30 to May 2. A second collection will be held Sept. 10 through Sept. 12. Both events will be hosted at the Strongsville Service Center, `16099 Foltz Parkway. Drop-offs are welcome from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Latex paints have historically be one of the few items not accepted during the hazardous waste round-up. Examples of acceptable items for drop-off include: oil-based paint, varnish, adhesives, gasoline, caustic cleaners, herbicides, roof tar, etc.
