Health Competition Coming To Strongsville

The city and the Cleveland Clinic will put together a contest for residents. The contest is free and open to all.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — This fall, Strongsville residents will have the chance to participate in a free health competition put on by the Cleveland Clinic and local businesses. The top three participants in the program will receive a free year's membership to the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center.

The competition is free and open to all residents in the city. The top three participants will be determined by weight loss, weekly participation, exercise minutes and diet change.

Programs will be held every Tuesday starting Sept. 5. The events will be held at the recreation center, 18100 Royalton Rd. from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A list of events can be found by clicking here. Tuesday night events will be walk-and-talk style info sessions where experts will discuss tactics for optimal health.

The competition is part of the Cleveland Clinic's Healthy Communities Initiative, which sees the hospital system partner with cities and villages to startup various programs for health. Strongsville's competition will run from Sept. 5 to Oct. 24.
