Hundreds Of Strongsville Residents Still Without Power

In response, the city's recreation center is welcoming residents into the facility.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — More than 16,000 people in Northeast Ohio are still without power after Sunday night's powerful storms, according to FirstEnergy's power outages website. At least a few hundred residents in Strongsville are among those still in the dark as of Tuesday morning.

The energy company's website says power may be restored between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday for many residents. That will mean some residents will go close to two whole days without power.

Knowing its residents may be impacted, the city has opened its recreation center to anyone without power. Individuals just have to tell the front desk why they're there and they can enjoy a hot shower and hang out at the facility as long as they like.

Additionally, the city wrote on Facebook that, "Strongsville residents: If you have tree branches in your yard from last night's storm, please take them to the curb and city crews will pick them up this week. Once they are on your tree lawn, call (440) 580-3170 and leave your address and you will be added to the list."
