- The Ohio Supreme Court has upheld a law that cuts state funding to cities by the amount they collect in traffic camera fines. - A Cuyahoga County proposal intends to expand internet access. Currently, almost 18 percent of county households are not connected to the internet. The new proposal will spend almost $20 million to remedy the issue. The proposal would use American Rescue Plan Act funds to build a fixed wireless network and a wired network to reach roughly 25,000 households. (News 5 Cleveland)
- The owner of a former Strongsville adoption center has been sentenced to three months in prison for her role in a fraudulent adoption. Margaret Cole received a sentence by a federal judge for lying to Polish and United States officials about the adoption of a 5-year-old girl, which ultimately resulted in violent rape by her caregiver. The three-month prison sentence will be followed by a year of house arrest and a $7,500 fine. (cleveland.com)
