Jim Tressel Invited To State Of The Union By Anthony Gonzalez

Rep. Gonzalez will bring his old coach from The Ohio State University to the presidential address on Tuesday night.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Anthony Gonzalez will bring his old football coach, Jim Tressel, to the State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

Gonzalez was a wide receiver for Tressel's Ohio State Buckeyes football teams. He was elected as representative of Ohio's 16th district in November, replacing Jim Renacci.

Tressel is currently the president of Youngstown State University, but he won a national title as head coach of the Buckeyes. He also took several teams to national title games, but only won in 2002.

Gonzalez was urged to run for public office by Tressel, according to the Canton Repository. Now that he's a U.S. Representative, Gonzalez is showing his gratitude by bringing his old coach and mentor along for the State of the Union.
