STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville is looking for volunteers to join the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The group would help safety forces and neighbors in the event of a disaster.

The CERT program is involved in many communities nationally. The team will train members on how to help family, friends and themselves in the event of a tragedy. Team members may be called upon for help after damaging weather, for instance.

Volunteers will get training on disaster preparedness and will learn basic disaster response skills, like fire safety, light search and rescue and medical operations. Training will be done over eight three-hour sessions. There will also be one drill.
