Limited Edition T-Shirt Sales Will Fund Strongsville Field Trips

The district had to cancel field trips for students in K-8th in 2010. An Ohio company heard about the cancellation and offered to step up.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Rocking Strongsville pride has never looked so cool. A new T-shirt from 'Where I'm From,' an Ohio-based apparel company, is partnering with SouthPark Mall and Strongsville Schools to create a one-of-its-kind shirt to benefit the school system.

The shirt, titled "The 'Ville,'" will be sold exclusively at SouthPark. All proceeds from sales of the shirts will fund field trips for students in kindergarten—eighth grade.

“In 2010, we unfortunately had to eliminate field trips for our kindergarten through eighth grade students due to budget constraints,” said Cameron Ryba, Strongsville City Schools superintendent in a statement. “Our Strongsville Education Foundation has generously donated the necessary funds to bring field trips back for our students in the 2017-18 academic year. With the cost of funding this program exceeding $11,000 annually, we have been searching for ways to sustain field trips beyond this year. Through the generosity of local partners ‘Where I’m From’ and SouthPark Mall, we are thrilled for this opportunity which benefits our students.”
