Here are the top three stories in and around Strongsville today:

  1. A Strongsville man was rescued by Berea firefighters on May 28. The man was stuck on a ledge overlooking the Rocky River after misjudging the drop to the ledge. The man climbed over a fence at the overlook to reach the ledge that was about 40 feet above the river. (cleveland.com)
  2. Cuyahoga County has been designated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Red Zone. The designation indicates that the county has a high rate of COVID-19 transmission. Cuyahoga County is one of six counties in the state that were updated with the designation on Thursday night. (Cleveland.com)
  3. The Cuyahoga Medical Examiner has identified the man that was fatally shot by a Cuyahoga County Metropolitan Housing Authority police officer in front of the Union Square High Rise. Demond Eskridge, 42-years-old, died on Thursday while being treated for his injuries at University Hospitals. Eskridge was reportedly throwing multiple objects from a seventh-floor balcony before being shot. (19 News)
