Mega Monday? More like Mega Madness
The day-after-Christmas sales brought thousands of shoppers to SouthPark mall, causing a somewhat chaotic atmosphere.

In a matter of hours, thousands of shoppers descended upon Strongsville’s to return those unwanted gifts and to capitalize on scores of Mega Monday deals.
However, getting to the mall was no easy feat. Highway lanes were jammed, roadways were clogged and SouthPark’s lots were chock full of cars, mall police and pedestrians.
The inside of the 150-plus store mall wasn’t much different. Foot traffic moved at a somewhat chaotic clip as shoppers hop-scotched from one store window to the next, feasting their eyes on slashed prices and special discounts.

Each deal, it seemed, was bigger than the last.
offered 30 percent off shoes, Express featured 40 to 50 percent off select merchandise, and offered 50 percent off on practically everything and eclipsed the lot with 70 percent price cuts.

“I’ve never seen the mall this busy,” said Strongsville resident Joe Clark. “People are everywhere. It’s an all-out scramble.”
Indeed. The crowd overwhelmed a 17-year-old girl so much that she fainted in the middle of the mall. By the time the paramedics arrived, the girl had regained conciousness and was okay, according to the Strongsville Police Department.
If you can contend with the traffic and crowds, store representatives urge that you act quickly. Several mega-deals will expire by tonight, with many more lasting only through the next few days.
