Metroparks Swimming Areas Opening for Season

Three spots are minutes from Strongsville

The Cleveland Metroparks has four public swimming areas, and three of them are in nearby Hinckley and Berea.

Ledge Pool & Recreation Area

Opening May 28, Hinckley Reservation, open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, admission.

Ledge Pool & Recreation Area features the heated 80-by-100-foot pool, Ledge Rock Café concession stand, shore fishing at Ledge Lake, sand volleyball and basketball courts, and reservable picnic areas. Swimming lessons and birthday party packages are also available. Ledge Pool is at 1151 Ledge Road, between Kellogg and State roads. Admission is $4.50 for 12 and older; $3.50 for ages 6-12 and free for kids under 6 and adults 62 and older. Season passes are also available.

Hinckley Lake Swimming Area

Opening June 4, Hinckley Reservation, free, open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Hinckley Lake Swimming Area features picnic areas, grills, a concession area and a waterfall dam. It is located off Bellus Road in Hinckley Reservation, between West and East drives, south of Route 303 in Hinckley Township.

Wallace Lake Swimming Area 

Opening June 4, Mill Stream Run Reservation, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, free.

Wallace Lake Swimming Area features a beach, the Quarry Rock Café concession stand, paddleboat rentals (nominal fee) and a baseball field.  Wallace Lake is located off Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, south of Bagley Road in Berea.

The fourth swimming area is Huntington Beach in Bay Village. 

Lifeguards are on duty at all four swimming areas during posted swimming hours.
