Metroparks will Rent Fishing Equipment in May

Cast a line at Wallace Lake without making a big investment

Cleveland Metroparks Institute of the Great Outdoors will rent fishing equipment at Wallace Lake in Berea in May to let people try their hand at angling without making a big investment. 

IGO will rent fishing gear the weekends of May 5-6, 12-13 and 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fishing poles and basic tackle will be available to rent, as well as bait to purchase. Staff will be on hand to give basic instructions during the day.

May 5 and 6 are "Free Fishing Days" in Ohio, so fishing licenses are not required those days (check State fishing regulations for all others).

  • 2-hour rental - $6 (tax included)
  • 4-hour rental - $11 (tax included)
  • Bait available at minimal cost.

Wallace Lake is located off Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, south of Bagley Road in Berea.
