Hello, friends! It's me, Sean Peek, your host of the Strongsville Daily — here to impart all the most important things happening in town.
First, today's weather:
Warmer with lots of sun. High: 78 Low: 52.
Here are the top three stories today in Strongsville:
- A Most Excellent Race will occur on Jun. 26 at the Achievement Centers for Children's Camp Cheerful. This will be the 32nd time the race has been held. The race is meant to raise funds for recreation programs to support those with disabilities. Runners will compete in either a one-mile, a 5K, or a 10K format. (cleveland.com)
- Are you in the market for a new best friend? Patch, with the help of Petfinder, has compiled a list of adoption-ready pets in the Strongsville area that are searching for a forever home. Click to view the complete list of pets. (Strongsville Patch)
- Police pursuits in Strongsville have skyrocketed. In 2020, Strongsville experienced 19 different police pursuits and in 2021, that number more than doubled. It is currently not clear why police pursuits have increased so dramatically. Some believe it comes down to fear of interacting with the police department. Others believe that suspects think the department will not engage in a dangerous police pursuit. (News 5 Cleveland WEWS)

Are you a Strongsville resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?
Bloomberg recently asked experts where they'd invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.
Thinking you can't afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.
Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here's why:
- Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
- Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
- Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)
