New Assistant Fire Chief Appointed

Jack Draves, a firefighter here for nearly 19 years, is a new assistant fire chief.

Draves, who has been a captain in the Strongsville Fire Department since 2008, took the oath of office Monday night.

He told the firefighters crowded in to watch the ceremony "it's been a pleasure and honor to work with you these last 19 years."

Mayor Tom Perciak said there was one drawback to the promotion -- "I can't call you Captain Jack any more."
