Old Carolina Barbecue Opening Still in Limbo

Old Carolina Barbecue isn't expected to be open by Christmas, but company officials are hoping it will be up and running soon afterward.
"We're still waiting," said Ray Hull, general manager of the new Strongsville eatery.

He had hoped that renovations to part of the former Bally's building at 14783 Pearl Road would be done before Dec. 1, but a problem with the electrical system has held up the final approvals.
The store is open during the day to sell gift cards. They're available in $20 increments, cash only.

Hull said there has been plenty of interest in the new barbecue restaurant.
"We get people coming in all the time, or peeking in the windows to see if we're open," he said.
The store is still hiring. Apply online at jobsbbq.com.
It will be the seventh Old Carolina location and the second in Cuyahoga County, following the opening of a store in Legacy Village in May.
