Panini’s Makes a 'Real' Sandwich for Real Appetites
The Strongsville Gourmet says this lunch reaches new heights
Are you looking for a sandwich?
Wait, let me be more specific: Are you looking for a “real” sandwich?
You know, the kind that has piles of juicy meat packed in it and is built so high that you can barely get your mouth open wide enough to take a bite?

We’re not talking about a wimpy, nearly empty, two slices of dry boring bread with an ounce or two of deli meat if you’re lucky. We’re talking MEAT -- and lots of it.
, 14952 Pearl Rd., offers just that kind of sandwich -- stuffed to the max with goodness. In fact, it’s “overstuffed” and that’s exactly what they call it.

A “Famous Panini’s Overstuffed Sandwich” is two thick-cut slices of Italian bread stuffed with hand-cut fries, coleslaw, tomatoes and provolone cheese. Oh, yeah, and a ton of meat. Total goodness for the serious meat eater.
Choices include: capicola, corned beef, Genoa salami, pastrami, roast beef, cheese steak, tuna salad, turkey and finally bacon, ham and egg. You can add an egg or bacon for a half a buck. If you’re really in the mood for a challenge, then double the meat or make it a combo for two bucks more. But I got to tell you, the normal size is huge so double the meat at your own peril.
I got the turkey with bacon and it was a delicious hand full. Despite the size, I still managed to eat all of it. Okay, almost all of it. I highly recommend this combination.
I tried a bowl of their Tuscan soup. It’s a chunky, hearty bowl of red-skinned potatoes and Italian sausage. It’s accented with kale and is a meal unto itself. I was quite pleased.
I couldn’t say no to their wings and got a half dozen of the Classic Buffalo. They were perfectly cooked, juicy but with no red or pink showing. I loved them but my one disappointment was I only got one drum in the mix and I love the drummies best! It was just the luck of the draw. I think the next time I’ll try either the Tiki Rub (Caribbean-style dry rub) or the Drunken Jack (BBQ with a touch of bourbon).
The menu is huge. With salads, wraps, burgers and even pizzas, if you can’t find something to eat here then you’re just not hungry. I was impressed to see they offered Jumbo Pretzels as an appetizer choice. The picture of them in the menu looked fab. I almost ordered them to make up for the night before when I got burned (again) at another pub that listed a pretzel appetizer but it was actually pretzel bread sticks. Oh, I hate those. When I want a pretzel, I want a “real” pretzel, not breadsticks.
So, when you’re looking for a “real” sandwich (or pretzel), Panini’s is the place to go.
