PTA buys first 'Rotating Dish' in northeast Ohio

A ribbon-cutting Friday night officially opened a new piece of playground equipment at , purchased after a year of fundraising by the PTA.

PTA President Kristi Clifford said it's the first "Rotating Dish" in northeast Ohio.

"We wanted something different," Clifford said. "We looked at swings, but this is something that encourages group play."

The PTA focused all its fundraising efforts last year on the playground, raising $7,200 through a series of events like a walkathon and Parents' Night Out at Bilo's. In addition, some money came from Market Day sales and a monthly donation from .

School Principal Todd Clifford guaranteed the piece would get plenty of use when school starts next week.

The PTA plans to focus its fundraising on the playground again this year, hoping to purchase items like adjustable basketball hoops and tetherballs.
