Police Blotter: Fake Cop Pulls Over Driver on Rt. 82

A motorist on Royalton Road near the was pulled over by a man driving car with a flashing red and blue light on the back about 11:40 a.m. Oct. 25.

But the car was a blue Camaro, not a police cruiser. When the driver asked the man, described as white and in his early to mid-20s, if he was a cop, the man just said to slow down.

He got back into the Camaro and headed east on Royalton Road. He had a dog in the car with him, the report said.

Police here advised North Royalton officers to be on the lookout for him.

Early Halloween Costume

A man wearing dreadlocks and a fake beard keeps walking around the area of Coopers Run and Country Way, a caller said Oct. 25.

He's been spotted several times and it seems odd, the resident said.

Don't Call Her Grandma

A Lorraine Drive woman said someone has been calling her and asking for her account numbers.

Someone else phones and calls her "Grandma" although she has no grandchildren.

She did not give out her personal information. Police gave her advice on how to handle the calls.

Some Good iTracking

A man called police to say he had left his iPad on an airplane and had tracked it to Strongsville.

He first identified an address on Webster Road, then changed it to the Holiday Inn.

In fact, a flight attendant had found the iPad in a storage compartment and took it with her to her hotel. Police retrieved the device and returned it to the owner.

Vandals Write on Car

Someone damaged a car in the parking lot of Oct. 27.

A report said the front tires were damaged and there was marker writing on the paint.
