Police Blotter: Kids Should Have Left Mall for Day; Now They're Banned for Year

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

Four kids who were acting up at Nov. 2 should have listened to security guards the first time.

A report said security officers escorted the group out of the mall and banned them for the day.

They went to , then returned to the mall, following the security vehicle around the parking lot and making rude hand gestures. Mall security called police and said they wanted the kids to be told they were banned for a year.

Police stopped their car on I-71 and delivered the news. If they return, they will be prosecuted for trespassing, the report said.

A passerby asked police to check on an older man standing on the corner of Sherwood and Burgandy drives at 1 p.m. Nov. 1.

The caller said he looked lost, and appeared to be pointing at the sky and talking to himself. He was also seen on Lunn Road.

An officer checked the area, but could not find him.

Pumpkin Mischief

Vandals smashed a pumpkin into the window of a house on Falmouth Drive about 10 p.m. Nov. 1 and tried to throw a scarecrow through the garage window.

Neither window was damaged. The culprits got into a car with a loud muffler and left.

Dog Scares Kids

A medium-sized dog jumped on a 6-year-old girl on Quail Hollow Drive about 8:50 a.m. Nov. 1, causing a minor panic.

A report said the dog knocked the girl down, causing all the other kids at the bus stop to run around and scream, which prompted the dog to start running.

A neighbor caught the pup to return it to its home. The girl's mom asked the animal warden to speak to the owner about taking care of his pet.

Bag Found

A black canvas bag left at Volunteer Park on Lunn Road Nov. 3 caused some concern for those who found it.

Police opened the bag and found a Nintendo game, a football and other toys. They took it to the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center's lost and found.

Disturbance at Sheetz

A man taking pictures of customers and asking for their phone numbers annoyed management at Sheetz, 21034 Royalton Rd., Oct. 31.

The man told officers he was just asking for a ride. Police gave the man, who is disabled, a ride to the .
