She told police her husband had had it since World War II.

Police found it was a practice round. An officer determined it did not require a full-scale Bomb Squad callout and took it to Berea for the squad to dispose of safely.

Saw Gone

A $500 chainsaw was stolen from a front yard on Howe Road between 11:30 a.m. and noon Nov. 19.

Bad Parking

Residents on Kylemore Drive suspected drunken driving Nov. 18 when they saw a vehicle parked across a tree lawn.

Police rang the doorbell, but no one answered. They issued a citation for parking across the sidewalk and also documented fresh damage to the left side of the vehicle.

They also noted a blanket and pillow on the driver's seat.

Mailbox Targeted

A mailbox on Prospect Road was again damaged the night of Nov. 18 by someone who threw landscaping rocks at it.

A week earlier, the mailbox was hit by two pumpkins and a rock.

The $500 mailbox, made of reinforced stainless steel, was dented but is still usable.
