Police Blotter: Man Robbed at Gunpoint in His Home

The following information was provided by the Strongsville police department

A Southporte man told police he was robbed at gunpoint in his home by four black men about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 18.

The man said he did not know who the men were and that he was bleeding from his mouth.

Detective Lt. John Janowski said he could not discuss the investigation yet, but said it does not appear to be a random home invasion.

Yucky Discovery

A Waterfall Road resident found a leg-hold trap in his back yard Nov. 20.

A report said it looks like whatever was caught in the trap dragged it into the yard and left part of its leg behind, still in the trap.

Car Break-In

A laptop computer was stolen from a car on South Meadows Circle sometime during the night Nov. 18.

Almost a Catastrophe

Repeated alarms sent police to Trillium Trail a few times Nov. 20.

Police went to the home about 7:20 p.m. after an alarm company reported movement in the basement. More alarms came in a few minutes later.

Police checked the house and said it appeared there was a dog in the basement that had set off the alarms.

Not exactly. When the resident arrived home, she said the dog was in a kennel in the basement. She said she let the cat run loose, and it was probably in the basement, playing with the dog.

Kids Cause Mayhem on Huntington Park

Some residents on Hunting Park called police about 4 a.m. Nov. 20 after someone rang their doorbell, then apparently smashed a neighbor's mailbox and lamp post.

The kids also tried to get into a pickup truck parked down the street.

The troublemakers were gone when police arrived.
