Police Blotter: Man Shoots Animal in his Yard; Strange Happenings at Hunter's Hollow; Dog Rescued from Hot Car

Neighbors on Walnut Creek Drive reported a man shot an animal in his yard several times about 7 a.m. June 30, then kicked it.
He then put the animal in a plastic bag and drove off with it.
One resident said the man does it all the time because he hates animals. He reportedly dumps the animals at the .

Officers spoke with the man when he arrived home, with the bag still in his vehicle.
He admitted to shooting a rabbit with a BB pistol, and said he was working with the animal warden to get rid of the critters in his yard, according to a report.

He was given a warning about discharging weapons within city limits. Police turned the matter over to the animal warden.
Hot Dog
The animal warden and police rescued a dog left in a car in the parking lot at about 3:15 p.m. Friday.
A report said the ambient temperature in the vehicle was 103.5.
Police made entry into the vehicle and Animal Warden Mike Roth took possession of the pup, leaving his contact information for the owner, who lives in Cleveland.
Police resecured the vehicle. The owner could face animal cruelty charges.
Shrieking Geese
A Chatman Drive resident asked police to look into a strange situation at Hunter's Hollow.
The man said Friday that for the last few nights, he and his girlfriend hear geese shrieking around 2 a.m. at the apartment complex off Pearl Road.
When they go to investigate, they find a single feather.
Police told him to report the incidents when they occur so officers can check them out.
Girls on a Roll
A group of girls apparently TP'd five houses on Saratoga Trail and Falmouth Drive Friday night.
A witness reported a group of six or seven girls on Saratoga about 11 p.m., and an officer spotted girls running behind Nantucket, but they slipped away.
More Mischief
A Mataire Lane resident woke up Sunday to find someone had let the air of out two tires of a car in the driveway.
No damage was done to the vehicle.
